T-post Insulators for Round Conductors (general)
Most economy T-post insulators that are suited to supporting polyrope, polywire, and wire are plastic insulators with small arms for carrying the conductor (see first table below). These hold the conductor close to the T-post, attach only to the studded side of the T-post, have difficulty carrying the conductor around curves or corners, and are not suited to carrying high-tensile wire. To supplement these we offer claw insulators that hold wire, polyrope, and polybraid securely and are well-suited to high-tensile applications; we also offer extender insulators that carry the conductor well out from the T-post; backside insulators that attach to the other (“back”) side of the T-post; and corner knob insulators designed to carry polyrope, polywire, and wire (including high-tensile wire) around sharp turns and corners.
Economy T-post Insulators for Steel T-posts and Round Conductors
These insulators clip onto the studded (“front”) side of T-posts and carry the conductor close to the post. They are not suited to negotiating sharp turns or corners or to carrying high-tensile wire. Available in white, black, and yellow.
Claw Insulators for Steel T-posts and Round Conductors
For those who want assurance that their conductors will not slip out, these claw insulators provide a good answer. Besides accepting wire, they accept polyrope and polybraid up to three-eighths of an inch thick (including the hot coat and polycoat polyconductors). Suitable for both high-tensile and other applications, they hold the conductor securely but also allow it to move freely back and forth.
Arm-type Extender Insulators for Steel T-posts and Round Conductors
These extender insulators will hold the conductor 2 inches or 5 inches out from the T-post. They are suited to carrying all round insulators except high-tensile wire. Not for use on corners or sharp turns. Besides attaching to T-posts, product 07-82 will attach to round posts up to 3/4 inch in diameter and U-posts up to 1.125 inches wide.
