Parmak Surround EM (EM-200), Low Impedance Electric Fence Charger, UL Listed
The EM-200 is a good electric fence charger to use on a short horse fence where neither horse behavior nor weeds is a major issue. Parmak's 14 amp-hour 12-volt AGM battery (01-32 below) should operate this charger for 3 weeks, and AGM battery 01-32E below (12 volts, 55 amp hours) should do so for 3 months. Both of these batteries will work (continue to discharge) over a wide range of temperatures (-40 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit), and both can be recharged as needed with an appropriate recharger (see below). Voltage data: Despite the fact that the EM-200 and its AC-powered counterpart the HS-100 put out 9600 volts on an open circuit, a minor weed burden offering a 500-ohm path to the ground will cut this voltage down to nearly the 2000 volt minimum needed to reliably shock horses. Other animals: This electric fence charger is useful for containing dogs and also for keeping cats and other small animals out of gardens. General data: The EM-200 features advanced solid-state circuitry and comes with instructions and Parmak’s one-year warranty covering defects and lightning damage.
