Parmak Fieldmaster 2 Low Impedance Electric Fence Charger, UL Listed
Delivering 3 joules and 10.5 kv, Parmak’s Fieldmaster 2 is a powerful electric fence charger – strong enough to deal with a significant weed burden and still maintain over 5 kv on the line. Our own field tests indicate that the FM2 is very similar to Parmak’s more powerful Mark 7 (see below) in terms of voltage output and behavior under load. This electric fence charger is suited to powering up to 15 miles of horse fence and to dealing effectively with moderate weed burdens. The Fieldmaster 2 features advanced solid-state circuitry, a light indicating when the system is working properly, and color coded fence and ground terminals. The charger comes with instructions and a full warranty that covers both defects and damage caused by lightning. Designed for indoor installation (or at least placement in a location shielded from rain and snow), the unit comes with built-in lightning arrestors.
Parmak Mark 7 – Low Impedance Electric Fence Charger, UL Listed
The powerful Mark 7 delivers a maximum of 6 joules and over 10 kilovolts. Our own field tests affirm that the Mark 7 can deliver over 5 kv, even with a moderate to heavy (100 ohm) weed burden on the electric fence, so long as good grounding conditions are maintained. Capable of powering up to 30 miles of electric fence, the Mark 7 is well-suited to dealing with winter conditions. However, it should not be used to electrify corrals or other small horse enclosures, at sites with public exposure, or in places where there may be significant safety issues. The Mark 7 features advanced solid-state circuitry and a built-in digital performance meter that shows the voltage on the fence wire attached to the charger. Designed for indoor installation (or at least placement in a spot sheltered from rain and snow), it comes with installation instructions, a full one-year warranty against defects and lightning damage, built-in lightning arresters, and double fuse protection.
