Dare Enforcer 300 (DE 300) Low Impedance Electric Fence Charger, UL Listed, Rated at 0.75 Joules (Actual 0.8+)
The versatile DE-300 can be used to power a stand-alone electric horse fence and also to keep out or contain a wide range of other animals. Voltage data: This charger can handle a major (100 ohm) weed burden and still keep the minimum 2000 volts on the electric fence line that are needed to reliably shock horses. If weeds are not an issue (where the charge must deal with 500 ohms or more to reach the ground), the DEE 300 will maintain over 4000 volts on the electric fence line, enough to reliably push a charge through the hides of sheep and goats. Joule range: The DE-300 generates a pulse of at least 0.8 joules on a 500-ohm circuit and a pulse of at least 0.7 joules on a 100-ohm circuit (for more about joules see Charger Safety, Horse Fences, and Joules). Other animals: Useful for containing sheep and goats where weeds are not an issue. Its 0.75 joules are a bit strong for containing very small pets (8 pounds or less), but the DE 300 is suitable for shocking most dogs and also for harmlessly repelling small wildlife (rabbits, woodchucks, raccoons, opossums) because it will maintain over 1,000 volts on the electric fence line even when numerous weeds afford the charge an easy (50 ohm) path to the ground. General data: The DE 300 features all-weather construction and modular circuitry for fast and easy service. It comes with built-in lightning protection, instructions, and a one-year warranty covering both defects and lightning damage. A light flashes to indicate that the charger and its immediate electric fence connections are working properly.
