Parmak Super Energizer 4 (SE-4) Low Impedance Electric Fence Charger, UL Listed, 2 Joules
Able to shock horses through their coats without difficulty, the SE-4 can power a vast expanse of electric fence (up to 50 miles if the fence consists of one perfectly connected 12.5 gauge galvanized steel wire) and is able to cope with a variety of adverse weather and electric fence conditions. Voltage and joule data: Parmak reports that the SE-4 puts out 11,000 volts on an open circuit, 6,300 volts with a 500-ohm weed burden, and 4,300 volts (enough to shock just about anything) with a 100-ohm weed burden. The SE-4 is rated by us at about 2 joules. Target animals: The SE-4 is useful for containing cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, and other livestock. It is also suited to repelling deer with both baited and unbaited electric fences (see electric deer fence options) and to keeping out many other animals including coyotes, wolves, javelinas, feral pigs, bears, and bison. General data: The SE-4 features advanced solid-state circuitry, fuse protection with built-in lightning arrestors, color coded positive and ground terminals, a digital display that indicates when the electric fence charger and its immediate connections are working properly, and a one-year warranty against defects and lightning damage. The SE-4 must be installed in a clean, dry location protected from the weather. Instructions and mounting screws are included.
